Care

Wash it by hand with warm water and mild soap, and dry it standing up. Do not put it in the dishwasher or leave it to soak.

Every two or three months, a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil. It brings back the colour, on the edge too.

Every piece is different

The shape, the tone and the grain change from one board to the next: each piece comes from a different part of the trunk.

On live edge boards, the edge is the real outline of the tree and may have bark or a more rustic area, sanded and sealed with the same food-grade oil as the rest. It is not a defect: it is the part of the tree that has been kept on purpose.

The one you receive will not be exactly the one in the photo. That is what makes it one of a kind.

Live edge: the outline of the trunk

The edge isn't cut square: it's the real shape of the tree, with its bark sanded and sealed. That's why no two share a silhouette.

Rustic on purpose

It may have bark on the edge and an area with more character. It is not a finishing fault: it is the part of the tree that has been kept.

Frequently asked questions

Is it made from a single piece?

Not always. Most are made from several pieces of solid acacia joined together, and some come from a single one. What never repeats is the shape, the tone and the grain: each piece comes from a different part of the trunk.

Why doesn't my board look like the one in the photo?

Because the live edge is the real outline of the trunk. The silhouette, the grain and the tone change from one to the next. It is real wood, not a machine-cut panel.

Is the bark edge safe to touch?

Yes. It is sanded and sealed with the same food-grade oil as the rest of the board. If it feels dry over time, a thin coat of oil brings back the colour.

Is it dishwasher safe?

No. High-pressure water and the heat of the drying cycle dry out the wood and warp it. Wash it by hand with warm water and mild soap, and dry it standing up.

Is it for chopping or just for serving?

It works for chopping, but it's mainly built for serving. If you're after the board you chop on every day with a heavy knife, a thick end grain block will suit you better.

When will it arrive?

Order before 1 pm and it leaves our Tarragona warehouse the same day. Delivery takes 48-72 hours to mainland Spain and Portugal, 3 to 6 working days to Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Luxembourg, and 4 to 6 working days to Poland, Sweden and Ireland. Shipping to these 12 countries is free, with no minimum order.

How does the 60-day return work?

You have 60 days to return it for any reason, on top of the 14 required by law, and it is free: you write to us and we send you the label. It has to come back new, unused and in its packaging.

Who helps me if I have a problem?

Luis, the founder. On WhatsApp every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., or at soporte@erreke.com.
